WINNERS: Heat 4 the Holidays

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For more than three decades the Eason family used a wood stove to heat their home. Those days are over as the family just won the WWAY Heat 4 the Holidays contest. See the surprise here!

Al Fulford Heating & Air teamed up with WWAY again this holiday season to give away a brand new RHEEM energy efficient, heating and air conditioning system!

Daniel Seamans(on the street): “Okay we’re here at Milton and Susan’s house they think we’re going to check in on the 3 finalist. Little do they know they’re actually the winners. Let’s go!

In front of the house….
Daniel: “All right come on out here! Ok I’m looking for Susan and Milton. Would you be Susan? Susan hi, I’m Daniel Seamans with WWAY like and where’s the other person of the hour,Milton? Milton, I’m Daniel Seamans with WWAY. I’m joined by two special guest about Justin with Al Fulford. I’ve got JJ with Rheem and they have a big announcement. ”

Justin Fulford: “You guys won our heat for the holidays promotion. I have you a new Rheem heating and air system.

Daniel: “Tell me about how you how you heat the home right now.”
Milton Eason: “Wood.”
Daniel: “How long it been since you’ve had central heating and air?”
Milton: “We never had it.”
Susan Eason: “He’s(Milton) going to be very happy because I’m very cold natured and he sweats.”

Daniel: “Where would I find a daughter in law, Mrs Lauren? Lauren come on over here so this is how it all went down. You know this was a nomination process and your daughter in law is the one this sent in email for the contest and it was what she said about you all that that caught the eye of up the judges and what you tell me a little bit about these two they are amazing they are.

Lauren Eason: “There’s nobody else like them in the world. They are selfless and they’ll do anything for any body and not blink an eye. You know they have three kids and seven grandkids then go without heat and air so we can all be happy to provided for. That’s all they care about.

Daniel: “This is the submission you sent in.”
Lauren(reading submission): “They are by far the most giving people I know, granted they may be my in-laws but they always do whatever mean above and beyond possible to make sure others around them have what they need not to just survive but be comfortable and happy every winter Milton gets out outside and chops wood to keep warm. He had had bypass surgery and a stroke and still cuts wood every winter here. Susan has breast cancer and still keeps children to make ends meat and provide for kids and grandkids they are the most normal hard-working citizens who have never had a break or anything given to them it.”

More than 700 people nominated a household for the contest.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
