Woman accused of arson, assault, and shooting truck with man inside

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A 23-year-old Johnston County woman faces several charges in Brunswick County.

Cynthia Dawn Ivey is accused of breaking into a home on Queens Way in Leland on April 29 and stealing two guns. According to arrest warrants, she then set the home on fire.

She’s also accused of assaulting the man who lived in the home and shooting his truck while he was sitting inside it.

She’s facing a long list of charges:

• Second degree arson
• Breaking and entering
• Larceny of a firearm
• Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
• Injury to personal property
• Injury to real property
• Discharging a weapon into occupied property
• Safecracking

Ivey is in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.
