Teen accused of shooting towards sister and infant

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police say a verbal argument led a Wilmington teen to shoot at her sister and a baby.

18-year-old Destiny Success Johnson was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

The Wilmington Police Department was notified by a ShotSpotter notification, the incident took place at the 1300 Block of South 13th Street.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, Johnson had gotten into a verbal argument with her sister. That’s when she allegedly pulled out a gun and shot it towards the victim who was holding her infant.

Johnson was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

There were no injuries or property damage.
