FIRST ON 3: Woman linked to 3 recent Wilmington robberies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police said a woman already charged in a Wilmington robbery from a few months ago has now been linked to two recent crimes.

Wilmington Police said Edna Suell was arrested after noon today in connection with a robbery on Wednesday night and a robbery where police said she threw hot coffee on a clerk. Suell is also charged in a robbery involving a machete from April. Mark Headstrong was involved in that incident and said he subdued her until police arrived.

“I know her face 100 percent because we were fighting for half an hour in my store,” Headstrong said.

Suell is facing charges including armed robbery and common law robbery. She was booked in jail under a $100,000 bond.

We’ve reached out to District Attorney Ben David for more information on these continued crimes, and what can be done to stop the cycle.
