Woman guilty of murder in deadly moped hit-and-run

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington woman pleads guilty to second-degree murder in a deadly hit-and-run crash.

Susan Tumidaj, 39, hit moped driver Albert Cox, 59, on December 30 at the intersection of 3rd Street and Market Street. Police say Cox died from his injuries in that crash on January 6.

Tumidaj was also facing charges including DWI, felony hit-and-run, felony death by motor vehicle and driving with a license revoked. As part of the plea deal, those charges have been dismissed.

Tumidaj was sentenced to between 10 and 13 years in prison.
