Woman identified after body found in sound at Ocean Isle Beach

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A woman drowned in the Intracoastal Waterway at Ocean Isle Beach, according to deputies.

According to a spokesperson for the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the victim has been identified as Blaire Whitney Anderson.

Authorities say the 25-year-old was found Friday around 11:30 a.m. near 2067 Inland Drive in Ocean Isle Beach.

The official cause of death is pending an autopsy, but detectives say it appears to be an accidental drowning.
