Woman pleads guilty in Whiteville robbery, murder

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A Columbus County woman is headed to prison following a guilty plea in a murder investigation.

Beverly Williams, 34, was sentenced to between 14 and 18 years in prison on Monday in the 2013 killing of Eddie Best. Williams robbed Best before strangling and stabbing him in his Whiteville home in May of that year.

Best’s body was discovered a few days later.
