Woman shot outside club in Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — The Elizabethtown Police Department has confirmed a shooting that happened outside of Club World Wide Friday night.

According to a representative from the club the incident happened after an underage woman was asked to leave the venue.

That woman later had an altercation outside of Club World Wide which resulted in a shooting. The woman was hit and was airlifted to a Wilmington hospital.

Police officials have not released further details or the names of the parties involved at this time.

Neighbors who did not want to be identified say this is not the first incident that has happened at the club.
