Woman wanted after allegedly hitting parked car, driving away
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are searching for Gertha Johnson Harlee of Leland for a hit and run that happened in early August.
WPD says Harlee, 58, backed into a parked car in the parking lot of Hanover Center on Oleander Drive on August 8 around 3:15 p.m. while the victim was inside of a business.
The accident caused approximately $1,750 damage to the victim’s vehicle.
According to witnesses, Harlee, who had children in her car, drove away, despite being flagged down. When the victim walked out of the business, witnesses alerted her to the crash.
Harlee is charged with hit and run leaving the scene with property damage, no liability insurance, and failure to see before backing.
