Woman wanted for alleged hit-and-run, assault
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A hit-and-run led to an assault in Wilmington. Police have identified the driver and hope you know where she is.
Wilmington Police are searching for 30-year-old Shameka Bernice Cohens.
for a hit and run that escalated to a physical assault on July 31.
Police say Cohens hit the victim’s car while turning in the intersection of South 8th Street and Red Cross Street on July 31. When Cohens didn’t stop, the victim followed her to the Family Fare on North 3rd Street. The victim reportedly confronted Cohens, that’s when she was assaulted before Cohens took off.
Cohens is charged with hit and run leaving a scene with property damage, simple assault and driving with license revoked.
