Woman who called 911 about suspicious person accused of setting fire to home

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A woman who called law enforcement in reference to a suspicious person ended up charged with arson, after deputies responded and saw a nearby home on fire.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday on Green Meadow Lane in Whiteville.

While on scene and speaking with Jennifer Marie Boswell, 38, who made the 911 call, a deputy saw a fire at an abandoned home on Thompson Town Road.

Deputies began investigating and determined the Boswell set the home on fire.

She was arrested and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
