ALERT: Woman going door-to-door posing as NHCS worker

New Hanover County Schools has received reports from law enforcement, the media and a parent that there is a female going into several Wilmington communities identifying herself as a college intern named “Heather” and states that she is working this summer for NHCS.

She is targeting families with children saying that she is “in charge of talking to Wilmington families about supporting children in education.” Although her badge seems to resemble NHCS; it is not. This individual is not from NHCS and does not represent the district in any manner.
