Woman pleads guilty to hiding mother’s death

The daughter of a woman found dead in her Ogden home months after she died pleaded guilty today to concealment of death and two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

Amy Stewart will face three years supervised probation, 100 hours of community service and court ordered counseling. In addition to her court fees, Stewart must pay back $7,500 of the Social Security and retirement benefits she stole from her mother Blanche Roth.

Roth’s mummified body was found in her home on Cherry Laurel Court in December. The autopsy shows Roth had been dead for six months.
