Woods fire reported near Brunswick Co. high school

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Fire crews in Shallotte are working on another woods fire in the county.

Officials said the fire is in the area of N. Mulberry Road and Ruby Way, near West Brunswick High School. At this point, the fire is in a wooded area only. Several departments are on scene, including Shallotte Fire, Waccamaw VFD and Supply VFD, according to witnesses.

There’s no word on any threatened structures or possible evacuations.

A second fire in the county shut down part of a highway yesterday. Crews are still working on that fire today.
