Work on Isabel Holmes Bridge should be done this month, NCDOT says

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation is almost done with repairs to the Isabel Holmes Bridge that have been ongoing for nearly two years.

Nightly closures have been happening on the Wilmington bridge since June 2019.

The $17.9 million project was a full rehab of the bridge from top to bottom.

The work was projected to be complete by spring 2021.

A spokeswoman with NCDOT says final inspections are currently underway and everything should be finished by the end of the month.
