World Series champ Trot Nixon lends a helping hand at baseball camp fundraiser next week
WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) — With assistance from WWAY’s Trot Nixon, former Laney baseball coach Trent Mongero is organizing a one day baseball camp on Wednesday, November 23 to assist Brack Hardee in Brack’s fight against brain cancer. Brack Hardee was a high school baseball standout at New Hanover High School in Wilmington. He went onto play college baseball at UNC Wilmington. He’s also the son of legendary coach Buck Hardee.
When: November 23, 2011
Where: Olson Park (near Laney High School & North Chase Industrial Park)
Time: 9am – 12 Noon
Cost: Minimum donation of $50 *Larger gifts are welcome and appreciated!
Ages: K – 12 (Players will be divided by age groups on four fields)
Walk-ups are welcome, but if you haven’t pre-registered the coaches would like for parents to have their children at Olsen Park by 8:30 in order to register and fill out forms.
The baseball camp staff includes current college coaches, former college players, former professional players, current professional coaches and local high school coaches.
