WPD asks for helping finding hit-and-run car


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is asking for help identifying the vehicle and driver involved in a hit and run with injuries late last night.

Police responded to the 5600 block of Oleander Dr. at 11:05 p.m. after a car hit a man on a bicycle. Police say the cyclist suffered serious injuries, which do not appear to be life threatening at this time.

Investigators say the car left the scene immediately and continued to travel west on Oleander Dr.

Police say the car is described as a silver or grey Nissan Altima, model years 1998-2001. The car is missing its right passenger mirror and possibly has damage to the right front corner bumper and around the right front tire.
