WPD: Bank robber in custody

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say the man accused of robbing a BB&T in October has been arrested.

Police said Todd Everett is facing charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon. The robbery happened at the BB&T on the 3400 block of Oleander Drive October 24. Police said Everett passed a note threatening that he was armed with a gun and demanded money.

The lead investigator in the case, Detective Travis Williams, said he saw a man approximately a week later that had a resemblance to the suspect in the robbery. Williams said he identified the man and continued with his investigation of that suspect and was able to obtain enough probable cause for his arrest.

The suspect was arrested last night in Jacksonville by their local police department where he is now in jail under $75,000 bond. Officials said he is a homeless man from the Virginia area.
