WPD gets money to market Text-A-Tip

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington City Council approved $10,000 for the Wilmington Police Department’s Text-A-Tip program.

Police Chief Ralph Evangelous said the anonymous tip program has helped detectives solve several crimes, but he says it could be more successful with more marketing.

Evangelous said the money will go towards commercials, phone applications, and social media to push the program out more.
