WPD looks for suspect in early morning shooting Saturday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating an shooting that happened early Saturday at 30th and Princess Place Drive.

Officers responded to a Shotspotter alert short after 1 a.m. and found a 34-year-old male had been shot in the back.

The victim was conscious and transported to NHRMC where he underwent emergency surgery.

No word on the victim’s condition and no suspect description at this time.
