WPD: Man breaks into dental office, steals empty cash box

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say someone set an alarm off when they broke a large window at a Wilmington dental office before stealing an empty cash box from inside.

Wilmington Police say it happened just after 12:30 a.m. Friday at Morris & Morris Dentistry at 2252 Yaupon Drive. That’s where officers say the suspect broke a window before setting off a motion detector alarm on the side of the building.

Police say the suspect then broke a large plate glass window with a concrete planter, where they then entered the building. Officers discovered the suspect stole a cash box, which was empty, from inside. They later found the cash box that the suspect ditched about a block away from the scene.
