WPD: Masked duo robs man working on car at gunpoint
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say a masked duo robbed a man who was working on his car in a Wilmington parking lot last night.
Wilmington Police say it happened just before 7:30 p.m. at 3625 Market Street. That’s where the man told police he was cleaning his car’s engine when he noticed a newer model vehicle pull in the parking lot.
Police say two men with bandannas covering their faces got out of the car and approached him. They say the duo then pulled two small, silver handguns on the man and ordered him to the ground.
Officers say the robbers demanded that the man take everything out of his pockets, also stealing a phone out of the man’s car, before they took off running in an unknown direction. WPD is still investigating.
