WPD: Pair arrested after weed, 100+ bags of heroin found in car

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man and woman are facing charges after officers said they saw drug activity near a park.

Police said around 6 p.m. last night, officers observed suspicious activity around S. 11th and Orange Street. They said they watched the vehicle go to the area of N. 6th and Nixon Street and watched a hand-to-hand transaction. Officers then stopped the vehicle and said they smelled marijuana. After a search of the car, police said they round seven bindles of heroin.

Police said after the pair, Kayla Jackson and Darion Graham, arrived at the station, they found three bags of marijuana and 112 bags of heroin on Jackson.

The pair are facing charges including possession of heroin and marijuana and possession of heroin within 1000-feet of North Side Park.
