WPD releases name of Oriole Drive murder victim

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police have released the name of a man killed early yesterday morning.

Investigators say Erasto Hernandez Lopez, 26, was found stabbed to death in a home on Oriole Drive around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Wilmington Police said yesterday they have a potential person of interest in the murder, but today they said no suspect information is available.

Police found Lopez lying face down in an apartment with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there were several men standing outside the home when they got there. The witnesses told officers Lopez was stabbed after a fight.
