WPD searching for man who drove off after head-on crash

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are searching for the driver who took off after a hit-and-run on June 5.

Police say the victim was heading north on South 13th Street toward Willard Street when the suspect, traveling south, veered into the other lane and hit the victim.

The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. The suspect then headed south on South 13th Street.

The suspect is described as a 30-40-year-old black male with gray hair. He was wearing a neon-yellow work vest. The suspect vehicle is a dark blue van, possibly an early to mid-2000s Nissan Quest.

The victim had minor leg and head injuries.
