WPD: Shots fired, house hit by gunfire on Wooster Street


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after shots were fired and hit two structures in Wilmington Thursday night.

Wilmington Police Lt. Stephanie Boucher says around 9:30 p.m. ShotSpotter alerted police of shots fired near the 1200 block of Wooster Street.

Lt. Boucher says when officers arrived they found shell casings on the ground, and had to shut down Wooster Street to collect evidence.

No word on if the home that was hit was the target. Police also say they cannot confirm if anyone was injured, and say there are no suspects at this time.
