WPD: Third man shot in three days

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police officers are investigating the sixth shooting since this weekend. It’s the third time in three days someone has been shot in the city.

The latest incident happened on Evans Street after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Investigators said a man was shot in the legs, but his injuries were not life-threatening. He was released from the hospital, officials said Wednesday.

On Sunday, a man was shot and killed in the 1500 block of 15th Street; on Monday, another man was shot in the hand on South 11th Street. That man has also been released from the hospital.
