WPD: Validated gang member charged in Wilmington shooting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say they have arrested a validated gang member in connection to a shooting that happened back in June.
Members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force from the Wilmington Police Department located Branden Ross, 27, late Tuesday night.
On June 12, officers responded to the 1500 block of S. 11th Street just before 11 p.m. in reference to a ShotSpotter notification. When they arrived, officers found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Ross is being held at New Hanover County Jail.
He is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm into an occupied property, possession of a firearm by a felon, speeding to elude arrests with aggravating factors, probation violation (two counts), possession of scheduled II controlled substance.
