WPD investigating attempted kidnapping and rape

Attempted 1st Degree Rape, 2nd Degree Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Assault on a Female

Summary: The female victim reported that she invited a former boyfriend to her residence to play cards. The victim said the man tried to force sexual relations, and she stabbed him in the arm in self-defense. The man grabbed the knife from the victim and held it to her throat, but she was able to get away and run outside to scream for help. A neighbor called 911. The attacker forced the victim back into the house at knifepoint, threatening to kill her. WPD officers arrived on scene less than two minutes after receiving the call and took the suspect into custody without further incident. Henry Lee McKoy, d.o.b. 7-19-1953, of Wilmington was charged with the offenses listed above. He is being held without bond.
