WRAAP holds open house
One after school program helped students enjoy the weekend while reaching out to the community today.
The WRAAP after school program opened its doors Saturday to recruit more students.
While kids played video games, ate cotton candy, and jumped in the bounce house parents could explore the curriculum and talk to the instructors.
Adrian Coles, program director, said, “We give them a pre-assessment so we can gauge where they are with those particular skills. After they complete the unit we give them a post assessment so we can see how much they’ve learned.”
The WRAAP program serves about seventy-five kids free of charge. Organizers say they hope to double that number by the end of the school year. The program runs Monday through Thursday at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.
