Wright gets brief reprieve
State Rep. Thomas Wright has a brief reprieve. The House ethics panel was supposed to meet Thursday morning about the Wilmington Democrat.
The meeting was rescheduled for next week due to the death of Rep. Edith Warren’s husband. She serves on the committee that is investigating criminal charges against Wright.
Wright is charged with five counts of obtaining property by false pretense and one count of obstruction of justice.
The committee could recommend expelling Wright from the legislature.
