Wright won’t be reappointed to committees

WILMINGTON — Wilmington lawmaker Rep. Thomas Wright has lost his chance for reappointment to five different committees on which he had previously served.

House Speaker Joe Hackney opted not to renew Wright’s appointments to the committees on government oversight, health care, capital improvements, information technology and utility regulation.

Wright is the subject of a criminal probe about misuse of his campaign funds.

Speaker Hackney is one of many high ranking officials who have asked Rep. Wright to resign. So far Wright has refused.
