Wrightsboro Elementary School employee tests positive for COVID-19

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An employee working at Wrightsboro Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from New Hanover County Schools.

The employee was last at the school one week ago, on June 9.

The school district said the Public Health Department will identify all close contacts. It is not believed that the staff member had close contact with others in the building.

The school district said they have implemented additional cleaning and sanitizing measures at the school.

As of Monday afternoon, there were 413 positive coronavirus cases in New Hanover County. 5 people have died and 127 have recovered.
