Wrightsboro Elementary celebrates 100

Wrightsboro Elementary School celebrated a milestone Friday. Students, alumni, former staff, and special guests joined the centennial celebration today at Wrightsboro Baptist Church.

In honor of the anniversary, two murals were unveiled, and the school received a historical plaque. The 4th and 5th graders were invited to attend the ceremony where some read speeches about the history of the school. All the students enjoy attending a 100 year old school.

“No other school like this is going to be like 100 years old, and that’s very fun,” said Savannah Bellamy.

Madelyn Gell added, “I like the old school because, uh, I guess it’s old! That’s all!”

After the ceremony, guests were invited to the school for a reception with refreshments and student-led tours of the building.
