Wrightsville Beach girl organizes art fundraiser for children’s home

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) —  Wrightsville Beach girl is showing hard work and dedication pays off and she is paying it forward. And now she is looking to the community to help her cause.

Maggie Dorosko is nine-years-old and she spent months organizing an art fundraiser to raise money for the Crossnore School. It’s a foster care home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It provides sanctuary for children in need in the state.

Maggie along with her cousins, parents, and grandparents made art displays and painted pictures to show off and sell.

Maggie said it took a long time for them to get to this point and she can’t wait for the art fundraiser Saturday.

“It feels really exciting. I thought it was never going happen, so I am really excited,” said Maggie.

The public is invited to check out the art displays, buy art work and donate to the cause.

The fundraiser is Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at 101 Circle Drive in Wrightsville Beach.
