Wrightsville Beach Police investigating PNC bank robbery

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Wrightsville Beach Police and Wilmington Police are on the scene of a bank robbery on Eastwood Road.

A spokesperson with the Wilmington Police Department says it happened at the PNC bank around 3:30 p.m.

Wrightsville Beach Police Chief Dan House says a man came in with a white doctor’s mask and jumped over the counter. Chief House says the man grabbed money and ran out the door. Police do not know yet if any weapon was involved. Only one customer was in the bank.

The suspect is a white man wearing a black ball cap, black hoodie, gray sweatpants, and is about 5’8″.

Wrightsville Beach Police will be the ones investigating.
