Wrightsville Beach resident facing 20 drug, fraud charges

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A Wrightsville Beach man is in jail facing numerous drug charges.

According to New Hanover County online records, Thomas Jason Popkin, 39, was arrested on Coral Drive in Wrightsville Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

Popkin is charged with the following:

10 counts of obtaining controlled substance by fraud/forgery
10 counts of Trafficking in opium or heroin

Popkin was booked in the New Hanover County Detention Center before being transferred to the Craven County Jail.
