Wrightsville Ave. work to resume
After several months of no work, construction will resume on the Wrightsville Avenue project.
Crews stopped working last fall when the contractor filed for bankruptcy. Starting Monday new contractor S.T. Wooten will take over. The remaining construction should take about five months to complete.
Drivers say they can’t wait for the work to be finished.
“It’s about time,” Lavada Bethea said. “I’ve been in this area for about six years. I’m from the city, and of course you get tired of seeing it all torn up. So I am ready for it to be over as well.”
Work on the project began in fall of 2008.
