Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue Team wins national award

Beach-goers in our area can feel secure that we have some of the best lifeguards around.

In fact, the Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue Team has a national award that says so. They are the proud recipients of the United States Lifesaving Association’s National Award for “commitment and dedication to public safety.”

Their public safety program on rip current awareness has become a model for rip current awareness programs around the country.
