WWII vet gets back lost service medals

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — A 90-year-old veteran finally has back his service medals earned in World War II.

Rep. Mike McIntyre worked with the national personnel records center and to replace the lost medals for Leroy Pierson of Bladen County.

The Congressman presented the medals to Pierson in front of his family and friends this afternoon at Elizabethtown Town Hall.
