Yoga studio gets creative to stay in motion during COVID-19 outbreak

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A Carolina Beach yoga studio has been channeling their inner zen over the past few months since closing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Salty Dog Yoga and Surf stopped in studio classes in March and just like many other business they had to get creative to stay in motion during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

Owner Mandy Nicolau Bernard says they turned to virtual classes and outdoor activities like beach yoga.

Recently, they’ve teamed up with Good Hops Brewing for outdoor classes in their beer garden when the brewery is closed.

Bernard says the yoga studio even offered free classes to those working in the medical industry and grocery stores.

Visit here to find out upcoming session times.

Bernard encourages you to sign up ahead of time and book online because of limited capacity to maintain social distancing guidelines.
