Youth marine science classes offered in Surf City
SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Surf City has joined forces with Ecological Marine Adventures (EMA) to provide our area with a year round marine science education program. Learning is very hands-on and student driven. EMA invites you to explore Topsail’s beaches and marshes from a unique perspective.
EMA is currently gearing up for Spring 2017. Classes will begin in January and run through June ending just before summer camps start. A wide variety of classes are available to the public: Homeschool Science, Toddler Science and After School Adventures will be offered in both five and eight week sessions with weekly themes varying to ensure students are actively engaged.
A Flippers and Feathers 5 Day Spring Break Camp will be offered from April 10 to 14, 2016. Camp size is limited so online registration is recommended to reserve your spot. A sibling discount is available.
Free Community Science Classes will continue to be offered every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the new EMA building located at 116 South Topsail Drive, Surf City, NC 28845. This free class is open to the public for children of all ages.
Full schedule, weekly class themes, detailed information and online registration are currently available at www.EMAtopsail.com.
