Youth regatta held at Wrightsville Beach
A calm day was not enough to take the wind out of the sails of some youngsters at the Carolina Yacht Club this afternoon.
The young sailors had only one thing on their minds.
Luckily the wind picked up and the sailors got their boats out on the water after only a short delay.
The kids say sailing a boat is a great way to go.
Carolina Yacht Club youth sailor Ian Barnes said, “It’s just a great experience for young sailors and older sailors alike and it’s just great for everybody.”
The regatta featured more than 60 boats in four different classes.
Teams were scored on their two best times in each class.
Win or lose, the kids managed to find a way to have fun.
