Zumbathon dedicates workout to finding ALS cure
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Over a hundred people came out for a zumbathon at Hoggard High School on Saturday.
Local zumba instructors combined their classes and opened up to the public to raise money for Augie’s Quest.
They say their goal was not only to raise money to cure ALS, but also to raise awareness.
“I had a cousin who passed away from ALS several years ago and so this is really near and dear to my heart,” said Wendy Joyner, a local zumba instructor. “It just makes me feel so great that so many people love zumba and want to help ALS.”
If you’d like to try the zumba workout there are classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Cameron Arts Museum.
