Wilmington Downtown Inc. supports NHC tax increase

Wilmington Downtown, Inc., Wilmington's Downtown Economic Development Organization, recently endorsed a resolution of support for the May 4, 2010 referendum to increase the local retail sales tax by one-fourth cent to fund quality of life expenses.

Pender Sheriff: Beware of man asking about lost puppy

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify a man who has approached numerous, Hampstead area, elementary school aged children asking if they have seen his lost puppy.

State Port of Wilmington will test emergecy siren Friday

On Friday, April 23 at 12:00 noon, the NC State Ports Authority will conduct a routine full scale test of the Port of Wilmington emergency notification siren. The test is expected to last approximately five minutes and will have the sound of a volunteer fire department siren.

CFCC hosting job fair Wednesday for students & public

Hundreds of Cape Fear Community College students are expected to attend the annual spring job fair in hopes that the contacts they meet could lead to a job after graduation. The fair will be held on April 21 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the McKeithan Center at the North Campus in Castle Hayne.
