A Bladen County father has pleaded guilty to killing his baby daughter nearly two years ago. The District Attorney's Office says Juan Andres Hernandez, 22, will spend as much as 10 years five months behind bars after pleading guilty to second-degree murder today. Full story...

A Wilmington teen once called one of the city's worst offenders landed back in jail as he was set to be released from prison. Rashawn Hines, 19, was scheduled to released from state prison Friday, but he was booked again at the New Hanover County Jail the same day for two counts of attempted murder. Full story...

A Wilmington man is behind bars under a $100,000 bond after police arrested him on a warrant from Johnston County. Last month police say Brad Venticinque,31, was driving west on I-40 when he hit the median, overcorrected and hit a guard wire severing the arm of his passenger Zachary Hunter, 19, also of Wilmington. The level of dissatisfaction from teachers at Ashley High School in Wilmington is growing. We told you last week about the initial, dismal, results of those teacher satisfaction surveys. Wilmington Police are looking for answers after a woman riding in the back the back seat of a car was shot in the leg Friday night. Police say Jaquelle Parker, 22, was seated behind the driver when she was hit.
