videoOn Monday the UNCW men's golf team captured the Seahawk Invitational. Seahawk junior Payne McLeod won the individual title by five strokes. The Ashley Spring Break Baseball Tournament is now underway. Ashley was the only local team to win on Monday. Plus more!

WWAY's Friday night sports - March 22

Friday was a day of upsets in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. NC State's loss on Friday wasn't necessarily an upset, but Wolfpack fans are upset with the result nonetheless. Duke & UNC did manage to win on Friday. The UNCW baseball team swept a doubleheader and Wilmington's Cari Blalock continues to be impressive in the pool. Plus more!

videoFormer New Hanover Wildcat swimmer Cari Blalock set an ACC record on Thursday when she finished in 10th place on Thursday in the 200 I.M. at the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championship in Indianapolis. Davidson and NC A&T both lost on Thursday at NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Plus more!

videoOn Tuesday night the Whiteville baseball team improved to 8-0 with a win over North Brunswick. Whiteville is the defending 2-A state champ in baseball. UNCW beat East Carolina in college baseball at Brooks Field. We have a Kadeem Allen update. The former New Hanover basketball standout played in the NJCAA Tournament on Tuesday. Plus more!

video On Tuesday night former East Bladen Eagle football standout Desmond Bryant signed a five year contract with the Cleveland Browns. On Tuesday UNCW baseball coach Mark Scalf picked up his 700th career win as the Seahawk head coach. On Tuesday Wilmington's Derek Brunson found out that his next UFC bout will be in June in Brazil.
