Thanks to a bit of creative editing a pair of New Hanover soccer players danced backwards on our sportscast on Monday night on WWAY. The UNCW women's soccer team didn't dance on Monday, but the Seahawks did shutout Coastal Carolina. Former Ashley soccer standout Stanley Broaden scored twice for Appalachian State on Monday. Several local high school football teams decided to play on Thursday in order to avoid the chance of playing in wet conditions on Friday. The weather forecast on Friday is scattered storms around the region. Regardless, we had our cameras out and about on Thursday. Full story...

The Wilmington Hammerheads return to postseason play on Saturday. They'll be heading across the country to face Sacramento. Tamera Young may not need a miracle, but her Chicago Sky team has to win on Friday to keep the season alive in the WNBA for Chicago. Orlando City was dubbed the 2014 USL PRO regular season champion following Wednesday night's scoreless draw against the Wilmington Hammerheads FC at Legion Stadium. We had high school soccer action from Bladen County on Tuesday night on WWAY between East Bladen and North Brunswick. The Eagles have only played six times this season. Former Laney High basketball standout Tamera Young saved the season for the WNBA Chicago Sky on Monday. Young made a basket that forced the game into overtime. Chicago ended up winning the playoff game in double overtime. Coincidentally, the UNCW men's soccer team also won in double overtime on Monday. Full story...

The Wilmington Hammerheads have suddenly caught fire. They've won two of their last three games. This includes a huge victory on Thursday over first place Orlando City. Two players on the Wilmington Hammerheads team have been suspended by USL Pro for their roles in an altercation on the soccer field last Saturday in California.
