On Friday night the Mideastern Conference took a back seat on the Full Court Press. We still had lots of high school hoops. In fact Friday was the final night of the 2012-2013 regular season. We showcased games from the Waccamaw Conference, Tri County Conference and Three Rivers Conference along with independent schools playoff action. Full story...

Monday was a good night for North Carolina's pro sports teams. The Charlotte Bobcats snapped a seven game losing skid in the NBA. The Carolina Hurricanes moved into first place in their division in the NHL. In Wilmington the UNCW baseball team is just four days away from the start of the 2013 season. On Tuesday night we checked out baseball practice in Wilmington for the state champion Post 10 squad. Their next mission is to claim the regional crown.... On Wednesday we talked with Lonnie Payton, the tournament director of the Battle of the Weekend Warriors. The two day event will swing into action on Saturday.... UNCW head baseball coach Mark Scalf has announced the addition of former Seahawk standout Robbie Monday to his staff for the 2012-13 season. Monday returns to his alma mater following a season on the staff at Barton under the tutelage of another former Seahawk coach Josh Simmons. Full story...

Jason Howell has resigned from his position as pitching coach at UNCW after five seasons to join Georgia Tech in the same capacity. Full story...

Josh Rusk has been named the head football coach at South Brunswick High School. Rusk replaces Roman Kelly as the Cougars head coach. The Wilmington Sharks got back into the win column on Tuesday. UNCW is still alive in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. UNC Wilmington batters slugged five homers on Saturday against Sacred Heart. UNCW won 13-4 over the Pioneers. The Seahawks will face NC State on Sunday afternoon. Full story...

UNC Wilmington has been paired against Vanderbilt on Friday in Raleigh in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Whiteville High School will also be playing baseball on Friday. The Wolfpack will begin state championship play in Zebulon against Randleman High School. The Wilmington Sharks don't have to wait until Friday to play. The Sharks open the season at home on Tuesday, May 29th. Full story...
