On Thursday night the Hoggard boys basketball team lost for the first time all season in league play. New Hanover beat Hoggard 52-32. The Laney girls captured the league title with a come from behind win over Ashley. The Bucs finish league play with a perfect 10-0 conference record. Full story...

The Wilmington Hammerheads had to win on Sunday on the road to get into the playoffs. As it turns out the Hammerheads edged Charlotte to get into the USL playoffs. On Thursday we found out the Garrity family is leaving UNCW in order to move to Clemson, SC. This opens a head coaching vacancy at UNC Wilmington.... On Monday we found out former UNCW men's basketball coach Jerry Wainwright is headed a bit closer to home. Wainwright has decided to leave Fresno State. Congratulations are in order for the UNCW surf team. They finished in third place at the national collegiate surfing championship. Cindy Ho's UNCW women's golf team captured first place in the CAA women's golf championship on Sunday. It's the second title in as many years for the Seahawks. Both Seahawk tennis teams came close, but they both fell short in winning a CAA tennis title. The UNCW baseball team is still a few weeks away from tournament play.
